When do you suggest I retire (work)?

Should I retire as soon as possible, or keep myself busy?

Without knowing your current age, what kind of work you do, where you want to live, if you want to travel, if you're married, and how well off you are, it's impossible to say. But overall I'd say to retire when you feel it's a good time to, and if you want to spend more time doing lots of other things besides work.  Retirement age creeps up quickly, and there's only so much time left after that.

Not enough information to say
I retired at 42, within 3 months I was so bored I started looking for work

No-one can answer that.

Do you have enough money to live on?

Will you be bored?

Will you be isolated?

Do you enjoy your job?

There's not a definitive answer to give without a lot more information.  In a nutshell, you need to make sure that your accumulated wealth, pensions, etc outweigh your annual expenses over the duration of your expected lifespan.

I'm not sure why retiring means you're not keeping yourself busy.  You should be volunteering in the community, doing activities like pickleball, traveling, etc.
