What should I do?

So my step daughter is in coach pitch (first year) and my stepson is in tball (first year). Their mother signed them up and bought their gear. We all get along great. Would it be overstepping if I wanted to get a picture of the back of mine and stepson’s shirts (also stepdaughters)? I will have a team shirt with my nickname on it. I just don’t know if their mother should be the one taking the pics with them. I don’t want to steal the limelight by doing that. Thoughts?

Ask their mother if it is OK to take the pics.

When in doubt ask the parents.

You are worrying too much about something that seems trivial. Both of you could take all the photos you wanted...or not. Indeed, their mother might be pleased if you took some photos and shared them with her. P.S. Oh oh !I should have read the other replies first! YOU are wasting our time!

As the "regulars" here will recall, this is the third year, probably 50th time, you've asked this.  I would think you'd have figured it out by now.  Thoughts?  Yes.  Find a full time job to occupy your time.

That would be a lovely thing to do. There should also be a picture of them with their mother, of course. It bothers me a little that you put your stepdaughter in parentheses. Is she really secondary to you?
