Floyd's drug dealer and key witness is refusing to testify and Chauvin's attorneys are using it as an opportunity to pin the death on him ?

Why will he not just testify?

The prosecutor's witnesses have done more harm to the case than good.  Essentially, the defense lawyer has gotten them to admit there was nothing wrong with what Chauvin did in cuffing and controlling the suspect.  There were multiple cop camera images where it showed Chauvin's knee was on Floyd's shoulderblade or back, not on his head or neck.  The use of force specialist agreed that a drugged up suspect could become violent at any moment.  And more than one expert witness agreed that an officer has to assess the entire situation for the safety of everybody involved - suspect, fellow officers, etc. before making himself vulnerable by trying to provide medical assistance to the suspect.  Or even in allowing medical personnel to enter the scene.

The end result is that the reason why they didn't render any aid to Floyd and why they held off the EMT from the scene is because the threatening mob that was around them.  Yes, it was the hostile witnesses, shouting epithets at the cops which prevented them from giving Floyd any assistance or allowing the EMTs from approaching.

The prosecution's case is in tatters already, and they haven't even begun to discuss the cause of death and how having a 3X fatal dose of fentanyl is the likely killer.  Along with the black crowd that didn't allow cops to treat Floyd.

Elwood is wrong because he was only shown the direct.  On the cross by the defense, these witnesses were forced to admit that what Chauvin did was well within accepted practices.

With Chauvin's chief of police saying Chauvin 'absolutely' violated policy while restraining Floyd that way after handcuffing, the manslaughter charge is a slam dunk.  Chauvin will go to jail for manslaughter at the very least.

Self incrimination in both instances.

The person in the car with Floyd gave him the suspected counterfeit bill...and the drug dealer is obvious.

Floyd was on many drugs and thats how he died

If he admitted Floyd got any drugs from him that could open him up to charges and lengthy sentence pushing the idea he caused the death
