Everyone gets compared to hitler. I think Megan Fox compared Michael Bay to hitler like a couple years ago. It's just a simplistic and stupid way people make comparisons. You'll know if someone is actually like hitler....but that's not going to happen. That man existed in a sense of madness and evil that this world probably won't ever see again. We'll continue to see evil...but not on that scale. Ask anyone if they think someone could ever be that meticulous and evil ever again...and I promise most people would say no.

His actions in Crimea compare directly to hitler and the Sudetenland. Use of ethnic bonds to justify annexation is straight out of Hitlers book. If Putin ends up annexing the rest of Ukraine, the comparison is even stronger.

But bear in mind there are also significant differences, so comparisons have a limited value. But emphasizing those differences is as dangerous as being fixated in similarities.

You could by saying they both kicked out the international bankers and corrupt businessmen. Both of these types of people ruin economics for the rest of us.

You could say that they are both leaders, and both wanted a homeland.

The people who hold tight to reverse discrimination, what most embrace as politically correct, don't ever want to see that happen. They are scared of it.

Have you ever stopped and really looked at other races? They all have a homeland. But no, putin is no hitler.

    Let's see.

Putin was a Colonel in the KGB. Hitler was a corporal.

Putin is left wing Communist, Hitler was a right wing Fascist

Putin didn't send troops into several countries like Hitler did, yet the US has. Strange coincidence.

Does the west see the two men as similar. Probabley yes, at least in terms trying to convince their populations that Putin is evil and should be neutralized.

Just remember, the US carried on trade with Nazi Germany even after the war started. Firms like IBM even supplied the machines to document and process the jewish concentration camps inmates who were to be put to death.

Right now, despite all the negative rhetoric about the Russians doing bad things, the US and EU still have international trade with Putin's Russia.

This may be the only similarity simply because if its about making money, the US and EU will look the other way.

Obviously, yes. Hitler's base was labor and nationalists. Ditto Putin. Both were/are left-wing socialists. Both promised to restore past glory. Both fixed the system to ensure their power. Russia invaded Georgia then Ukraine. Hitler invaded the Sudetenland under the pretext of protecting Germans there from violence. Putin invaded the Crimea with the pretext of protecting Russians there from violence. Hitler annexed Austria after Austrians voted to join Germany. Ditto Putin with the Crimea. Progressives thought Hitler was a great leader ad he was named Times Man of the Year. Ditto Putin. Hitler held Olympics in Berlin just prior to his aggressions. Ditto Putin. They are so alike, one has to wonder if reincarnation might be real after all.

And the absurdly strong case gets stronger: Putin is now putting his plans into writing. How does one say, "Mein kampf" in Russian?

Of course not, that is absurd. Comparing Bush Jr to Hitler was what most countries did and that made sense. The U.S. barged into Afghanistan and took over the government, also the same with Iraq.

Russia has not acted aggressively in Crimea. I dont believe the people in the Sudentenland were given a referendum to return to Germany or remain autonomous. They were just killed and taken over.

No. Adolf Hitler was an evil warlord who wanted to takeover the world. Russia is not evil and has no plans to takeover the world.

When Bush41 made that comparison, you loved it.
