What should I read?

I'm looking for a few good novels to read over winter break...I would especially enjoy a smart thriller/mystery or drama. Any good ideas?

Try "The Rule of Four"by Ian Caldwell and Dustin Tomasson...extremely well written, intelligent and a wonderful mystery that is never trite. At the center of the story are the characters, fleshed out in such detail that you are pulled into the story not just to see the mystery solved but to see how it all affects the characters. It also contains one of my all time favorite lines:

"Hope is the best and last of all things. Without it, there is only time. And time pushes at our backs like a centrifuge, forcing us outward and away, until it nudges us into oblivion."

Patricia Highsmith crime novels are really good. If you liked The Talented Mr Ripley then you'd probably like her work.
