  • Major tune-up for a Honda with 200K + miles?

How much can one expect to pay for a major tune-up on a Honda Accord LX with over 200K miles, and what services and parts should this cost include? The car runs fine and I expect it to last me at least another year or so. I just want to make sure I have an idea of what to expect on this kind of maintenance so I do not get ripped off.

  • A good website for basic HTML code?

So I am trying to figure out how to design a website that already has the basic structure in place. I just want to figure out how to change backgrounds, colors, fonts, headings, and text formats. I know there are a lot of websites for beginners with not much knowledge of HTML - has anyone had a good experience with one that they can recommend?

  • Why does my cat use the litter box every five minutes?

This doesn't always happen, but sometimes my cat goes in and out of the litter box four or five times within a half hour. He paws around, sits for a bit, paws some more, and then leaves. And then comes back to do it all over again.

I go and check the box after he's done, and he hasn't left anything new. Is this a sign of a larger problem or does he just like playing in the sand?

  • What are the differences between the RAZR you get with Cingular and the RAZR you get with Verizon?

I know that Cingular and Verizon both have their own multimedia services that you can access with the RAZR (both have a music store with $2.00 or $2.50 downloads, Verizon has V-CAST, Cingular has MEdiaNet).

My question is, is there any difference in the RAZR's PHONE features that you get from Cingular and Verizon?

  • Reducing eye strain during extended time in front of a computer?

I am on the computer constantly at work and can spend as much as 8 hours in front of the screen. My eyes are always red and tired by the time I get home, even if I am not tired myself. What are some ways you can make a day like this easier on your eyes?

  • Anyone who went to CES: What was the best new gizmo there?

The 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show is this weekend in Vegas. I'm hearing all the buzz in the news but wanted to get feedback from anyone else who is following/attending this.

  • How are the nights of Hanukkah determined?

Is it different every year? And if so, how do they figure out which eight nights are Hanukkah?

  • What's a good long-lasting lipstick that does NOT work like a dye?

I've found a lot of long-lasting lip colors that seem to cling to my lips and really dry them out (is that why they all come with a gloss top coat?!). I need something closer to a traditional, smoother lipstick but that stays really well. Any suggestions?

  • Does reducing your freeway speed (e.g. to 55 mph) improve gas mileage?

I've heard (especially with recent gas prices) that reducing your freeway/highway speed from 65 to 55 improves mileage by something like 10%. But I always seem to get more miles out of my tank when I make extended trips traveling an average of 80 mph.

Also I don't drive 65 mph on the freeway if I can help it. Does the same argument apply for reducing speeds from 75mph to 65mph, or 85mph to 75mph?

  • What's the best anti-shine product you've ever used?

I've tried a million and a half products. I do NOT have acne, but my skin does get shiny fairly fast and I am trying to get rid of the oil...but without over-drying it. I cannot stand foundation; powder gets rid of the shine temporarily but it comes back (and worse) within a couple hours. Oil blotting sheets don't do enough. I've resigned myself to the fact that it is what I wash, tone, and moisturize with that can truly make the difference.

So far my favorite products come from Origins (Mint Wash, Oil Refiner Toner, Matte Scientist Lotion) but if anyone can beat that, I'm down to try it out.

  • How can you recharge your iPod's battery?

I know that Apple will take them back and replace the battery for almost as much as the original device costs. Anyone have a tried-and-true way to charge it yourself?

  • Where Did You Find Those Fabulous Jeans?!?

I am always on the lookout for designer denim at great prices. I am a regular at retail sales, sample sales, and trunk shows, but am looking for a website that can give me the same deals (usually hovering around 50% off) on REAL jeans from 575, Paper Denim & Cloth, Joe's, etc. Any recommendations?
