Best symbol for Christ - Cross, Fish or Buddy Christ from Dogma?

Thinking of the Bill Hicks stand up, that the last thing Jesus would want to see would be a cross... when they start wearing fishes then I'll come back :o)

Gotta be Buddy Christ...

So it is with great pleasure that I present you with the first of many revamps the "Catholicism WOW. " campaign will unveil over the next year. I give you... The Buddy Christ. Now that's not the sanctioned term we're using for the symbol, just something we've been kicking around the office, but look at it. Doesn't it... pop? Buddy Christ...

I think that the cross would be the best simple symbol for Christ. Perhaps a better alternative, though more complex, is an empty tomb (a cave with the Stone rolled away - I'm sure you've seen something like this). If you chose a cross, it should be empty as well! He's no longer there, hallelujah!

As for the message to emphasise, the most important thing is that he saves us from our sins. That was accomplished by both his death and his resurrection. But no one can be saved until he repents and asks for salvation!

This is why I am not a big fan of christianity... The symbols are wholy depressing... I like the buddy christ idea.

I think symbols promoting ideas and concepts aimed at love and understanding are better then symbols showing a dead guy strung up on a stick! Funny thing is, if we see things like that in the news, everyone cringes, we see that in church everyone drops to their knees...

And no one has ever seen the virgin marry in a slice of cheese or mist on a window or their french fries. Those people are brain washed by the church and have no free thought what so ever.

Strictly speaking, the Fish isn't a sign of Christ, rather it's a sign marking out a follower of Christ. And the Cross is almost definitely better than the "Buddy Christ", although I've seen about half a dozen hilarious photoshops of that pic.

I never cared for the Cross. The obsession with his death is odd, since his death on the cross was not really his death. He did sorta come back a few days later.

I prefer the fish, as a symbol of his teachings, if you must put something on your car.

Well, the fish is a symbol for how he got his followers, (towards the middle of Mark.) and the cross represents how he died. So, the Cross is probably better.

I think the best symbol for Christ is love.
