You have to be a subscriber to the Yahoo Mail Plus program if you want to use Yahoo Mail with Outlook. The above answer is correct there is no way to use Outlook with a free Yahoo account.

Outlook is a product of Microsoft and it does not allow to setup an account with free email providers like yahoo to check email via outlook you need to have a paid (POP email account ) account to be able to setup with outlook .

Otherwise you can use any @hotmail address to setup with outlook . Because hotmail is also property of Microsoft so it has provided a facility to setup only free account from hotmail to be integrated in outlook .

as far as i know there is no way check a free yahoo email account using the pop and smtp protocols (outlook). the free email service is webmail only as far as i know.

however, you may be able to do so if you order the paid email service from Yahoo...
