what are moles?

what are moles? why do they appear on the body? do they increase or decrease in size or can they vanish totally?

    Moles are common usually harmless skin lesions. They are due to a proliferation of the pigment cells. Moles may darken following sun exposure or during pregnancy. During adulthood they often lose their pigmentation, and they may even disappear in old age.
