Well I'm the good mechanic...drop the fuel tank first, being careful not to pull on any ground wires that may be running to or from the tank via the sending unit or body. then there is a bunch of small bolts or studs w/ nuts on them you must take off to get the sending unit out. when removing the sending unit be careful not to bend the float for the gas gauge. once you have that out its easy, it either clips on the bottom or is replaced with the sending unit. Word of advice from the mechanic though....i dont recommend doing this yourself but if you must....ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS replace the little screen on the bottom, no matter what the cost is. good luck ~Scott

take the back seat out. cut a hole under the removed seat right above the fuel pump and tank. remove old pump, install new, cover hole reinstall seats

must cars you have to drop the gas tank and the pump is on the top. i would take the tank out from under the car get as much gas out as you can then take the pump off

If you need help, go to the library and look at the Chiltons or Haynes manuals. It's probably easier to just have someone qualified do it though.

Take it to a good mechanic and have him do it for you. He will probably do a much better job than you and do it quicker too.
