I would always pick honesty. Although loyalty has been one of the best asset a person could possess; however, there are times that it's hard to show loyalty to a person who constantly perform the things are considered bad or at times against your own principles in life. Honesty, on the other hand, brings the truth on any given situation. Despite the fact that the truth does hurt in many ways possible, there are a lot of cases that you would rather open your eyes to the truth than keep your eyes close from reality because of loyalty due to the fact that the person you're loyal to, doesn't do what's right.

I think honesty is the most important between two people. If you have established honesty, loyalty will not be far behind. I am not a "bible beater" but Prov. 24:26 "An honest answer is the sign of true friendship." It is comforting to me to know that my best friend will tell me the truth regardless of how difficult it is. When he does, I respect him that much more which fosters the feelings of loyalty.

Loyalty. Without loyal people have no honesty. Without honesty, people can still be loyal. Besides, there isn't too many honest people out there any more, not 100% honest anyway. Loyalty comes from integrity. So "should" honesty.

If I want Loyalty, I'll buy a lap dog.
I dig Honesty- I want a friend to tell me that dress makes me look like a peacock exploded. And then laugh at me for paying $300 for it.

To me it's loyalty. Sometimes I'd rather be told a little white lie by a loyal friend, to spare my feelings, or for whatever other "positive" reason. I'd rather have a friend who'd be truly loyal than always tell me the truth but may turn on me at any time.

This is a question of ethics. If you find evil in dishonesty then loyalty would be more important. If you think disloyalty is more evil than dishonesty then honesty is more important.

I think they both go hand in hand so to speak. If you're are loyal, you are being trustworthy. Being a loyal friend requires you to be sincere which is being an honest person. If you are loyal to someone...you don't hold back in any situation. I think both are important. The two compliment one another. Hope I don't sound like i'm babbling, but that's how I feel. What do you think?
