Kongs are tough, but they are NOT indestructible. My dog is a 150-pound Mastiff mix, and he doesn't like the Kong, but he does like the hard plastic dental chew toys from Nylabone (http://www.nylabone.com/default.aspx?pageid=111&pr... I buy the largest size possible. Although these also claim to be indestructible, they aren't either, but it does take a few weeks of chewing before he reduces the whole thing to a pile of small plastic nubs. It's the only toy that can stand up to his chewing for more than a few minutes.

The kong is great if your dog likes it. Do not fill it with the kong stuff or your dog will be stinky. Instead fill it with peanut butter, it's cheeper, smells better, and better for your dog. Also, you can get your dog cow hoves, they can destroy them, but it takes a long time. They are stinky due to where the cow walks, but they do not make the carpet stinky and they only smell while being chewed so let him/her chew outside or when there is no company. Good luck:) PS. what type of dog do you have and how old is he or she?
