It used to be called the Bureau of Redneck Control or the BRC. It was originally organized to deal with hill folk that were setting around smoking corn cob pipes while they were waiting on their stills to finish brewing up a batch of moonshine. When the first officers went into the hills looking for alcohol and tobacco they found out the hill folk also had guns. In the late 70's there was a movement to change it to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Camaros up on concrete blocks, but that never materialized.
