There is no sugar in a can of Coke. They use high fructose corn syrup because its cheaper and they want to charge you more for less. They are a business and when you sell sugar water you need to find tricks to make the stuff cheaper. They used to use sugar but they couldn't change the recipe without people knowing so they came out with New Coke, which they new no-one would like but then they re-introduced Coke Classic, and everyone was fooled thinking they brought back the Old Coke. Difference was they got rid of the sugar and put high fructose corn syrup instead

In a 12oz glass of coca-cola, there are about 30grams. That translates into about 20 grams in an 8 oz can or 15 grams in a 6 oz can.
