Printer has toruble pulling in the paper, any suggestions?
My printer for the most part works fine, but occasionally it has trouble grabbing the paper from the tray to pull it in and print, and I have to kind of push the top page into it to get it to grab it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this problem?
It is an HP Deskjet 610CL if that makes any difference.
It's pretty old...at least 4 years. You think cleaning the rollers would help?

Check the weight of the paper you are using. Look at the manual to see if it requires 24 weight paper or recommended composition. 50% rag / 50% cotton
How old is the printer? The feed rollers may be dirty?

your feeder rollers are probably glazed over from use. that's ok, it's a common problem. all you need to do is to take a pencil eraser to them. you might have more luck cleaning them if you've taken the printer apart, and give the whole thing a good once over. when using a pencil eraser you will leave eraser dust, so be very careful if you don't tear apart the entire machine (which is what i highly recommend). Your feeder wheels need friction, and while they are glazed this is not happening, using this technique will free up the friction so that it will pull the paper through for you.
Hope this helps - good luck.
