Yeah...it's kinda true. But then again, it gets sorted out in due time. We wouldn't even need half of the questions that i've seen if people knew how to use search engines to find factual stuff. But hey, whatever gets us points, i'm not complaining.

And in the wise words of a website, "There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots."

If a person posts a stupid question it's because they don't know the answer to it. I would give the most viable answer possible so that person may feel better about their lack of knowledge. Some questions that may seem stupid to some may not be stupid for others.Depends on their I.Q.

Sometimes answering the stupid questions are fun as it gives you a chance to come up with a creative/funny answers.

Besides, if we tried to erase all the stupidity from the internet it would be pretty empty.

Also, let's not start to reward stupidity. Stupidity already gets far too much attention as it is, and I think that helps it to spread.

Only if they are intended to be stupid, such as "wats yo name"? If its a just a person who is actually curious about something, but poses thier question in a profoundly stupid way, then I think we should still give em a serious answer.

There are no stupid questions, therefore they don't deserve stupid answers. (unless the person already knew the answer to said question. Then it's stupid.)

  • There is no such thing as a stupid question. People don't think sometimes before they ask a question, if they knew the answer they wouldn't be asking.

Well, now that asking questions is actually a point penalty, I take the questions more seriously. Just because you think the answer is obvious doesn't mean the asker does.

Yes, this site is meant as a meeting-grounds for highly educated geniused who don't work and have nothing better to do than answer questions all day.

Sometimes, but I try to take into account that some of the questions are coming from kids. (Although why their parents allow them to be on here is a mystery to me!)

yes, obviously. if you ask a pointless question you cannot give an answer that has a point unless it has nothing to do with the question... which would make it pointless:)
