Is there any way to get rid of ringing ears?
I had an ear infection 2 months ago and took z-pak..they've been ringing ever since. I think it's the medicine that did it. Am I stuck with this the rest of my life? I'm not that old. I would see a dr. but I dont think theres much they can do. It's driving me nuts!

Reduce overacidity in your body.
- eliminate acidic foods- citrus,tomato,caffeine products;
wholegrains, foods which give you gas, acidic fruits and
vegetables and so on
- substitute with nonacidic vegetables, boiled better quality chicken, while flower. (pasta is whole duram wheat)
- vitamins and herbs - papaya enzyme(most imp), gymnema sylvestre (take 1 tab with each meal- max 2), calcium, magnesium
- search articles on gymnema sylvestre and overacidiy on internet and read it very carefully.
you must start feeling difference after about 10 days, it might take 2 to 6 months for complete recovery.
overacidity in the body causes extensive tissue damage in the body.typical symptoms will be irritability, frequent cold and cough, skin problems, heart burn and so on.

Maybe it'll go away if it is the effect of a medicine you took. However, there is no cure for ringing in the ears. The most you can do, is have noise around you, so that the ringing in your ears is drowned out by the outside noise, like a TV or radio. Also, learn to ignore it. When it's real quiet, it's at it's worse, so have a radio or TV on whenever possible.

I am a drummer. I know about ringing ears. :) But the best thing I have ever done is use ear plugs. With your situation it was medically induced. I think you should call a doctor and see if it is one of there side effects. If so, than there may be some way to fix it with medicine, considering that is how it started.

I suggest getting in touch with the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Tinnitus can be permanent, but if caused by an infection perhaps they can help you.
