Why did Kevin try to kill Brooke On Y&R?
I am new to show and so lost on this. How,when and why did this happen and how did he get away with it.

Kevin tried to kill Colleen in a walk in cooler in a restaurant called Gina's. He locked her in and and started the place on fire. I think that he liked her and she wouldn't return his affection, so he went after her. It was a really long time ago, so I don't remember for sure the reason.
Also- there is no Brooke on Y&R, she's on B&B

Actually, there WAS a Brooke back in the 70's but that was way before Kevin came into the picture. He did try to kill Colleen and that has been resolved now.

He tried to kill her because she did not approve of his relationship with her best friend Lily.
