Pros: Clean burning (better for the enviroment), relatively cheap (as you can get used vegetable oil from fast foods places)

Cons: You need a diesel engine, it is time and labor intensive to go around to fast food places and get you veg oil, and it doesn't work well in colder temperatures (although there are things you can do to work around this)

Cost: You'll need a holding tank for the oil, a filter system and maybe a few other modifications (running the hot part of the cooling system through the tank to heat the oil, and some switches) I'd ballpark $700-$1000 depending on the size of the tank.

Resteruants in some areas pay waste management companies to disposal of there used oil. You could probably get it for free from them, but getting them to pay you is probably more difficult.
