First you have to look at the age of the book. The bible is cut into 2 general parts. The new testament is from about 0ish AD The old testament claims to go to the beginning of time.

Now, let's revisit the "Phone game" from kindergarten. Before they had paper and pen, stories were told from generation to generation. Now let’s say there are 4-6 generations per century. So the “phone game” is passed from person to person many times per century. Hmmm, having been in kindergarten, I seem to remember that each retelling seemed to change fact into fiction. Since the Old testament dates before written techniques, we can surmise that it is folklore and not fiction. Now the new testament is a different story. Here we know that monk’s mostly did the copying of the bible. However we also know that kings enforced changes to suit the times. So if it is socially acceptable to change the text, who is to say that what you read is even remotely true.

Now let’s add in the ambiguity of language. The last time you read a Shakespearean play, did you take it verbatim word for word? The bible also uses such vague diction. Taken literally would be insane. The moral basis of the text is good, but little fact can be derived from the text.

Now for my personal opinion. You can trust it to teach a general set of good morals to live by. Aside from that, it is a good story.

Not 100% ofcourse. As it would be 100% accurate if it were preserved in actual language it was first writen. I don't mind if the order of chapters is changed as far as there verses are not mixed with each other.

See!!! you need to know the purpose of a religion. The purpose of every religion is basically to form a batter society. It is only the religious people who want to have some position in the society and who make it difficult for people to understand this fact. Now one thing is for sure true that all the messangers were sent by God to different nations in different parts of the world. The teaching are in steps just to make people confortable in doing some good deeds until the final word from God which is Quran where God says Himself that "This day We have completed religion for you". Also God has promised in Quran that He would protect Quran Himself from alteration. And it is protected. You may find different interpretations of Quran by different scholers but still the Arabic text of Quran is same as it was revealed to Muhammad (some people say that order is not the same). So you can trust all those verses of Bible if they do not concide with the verses of Quran as Quran does not cancel the verses of Bible (it only refines the definitions). That is the reason that non-Muslims put blame on Islam that its teaching even tell you how to wash your hands. The reason is very simple. i.e.

The purpose of every religion is basically to form a batter society.

the hot worldwide translation is the main precise. one substantial reason is that it has placed god's call back the place it belongs. did you realize that the call Yahweh or Jehovah (in English) seems interior the bible over 3000 cases yet because of the fact the Jews started questioning that it replaced into to holy to declare they stopped employing it. because of the fact of there superstitions bible translators started removing it from there translations and changing it with GOD or LORD. in case you have not got faith me look interior the dictionary of any bible under Jehovah. it is complicated to have an intensive relationship with some thing which you in straight forward terms call by way of it is call. it would be like the boss at artwork instead of employing his call you in straight forward terms stated as him supervisor. that's basically certainly one of quite a few factors that that the hot worldwide translation addresses

main example is they talk about jesus being crucified through the hands when we know that isn't possible. If a fundamental mistake like that is made it calls into question everything else. And you have it right spot on, it is subjective and can be interpetted hundreds of ways hence so many factions in christianity!

I think it depends on your belief. The bible is up for much interpretation. And remember its been translated from its original language to english (or which ever language for that matter) and things get lost or changed in translation. I think the best way to read it is in its original tongue but even then its still up to interpretation.

Only trust what you feel in your heart is true. A part of God is in your heart and if you listen to God, you can't go wrong. Don't forget that humans wrote the Bible, (and rewrote many times)sinful and imperfect humans who had egos and had much fear in a time where there was much conflict.
