If you had $100 to $200, what mp3 player would you buy?
Not obsessed with music, but I would like to take my songs with me instead of taking CD's. I was originally wanting something with video as well, but am going to probably wait to get a more expensive PVP later. Most mp3 players with video don't hook up to TV to record and that is what I am looking for.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Based on what you are looking for I would take a hard look at the iRiver U10 which has line in recording capability if you use the dock (optional). Another down side is its limited 512MB to 1GB, http://www.bizrate.com/buy/products__cat_id--499,k... of storage but it is packed with features and is a top pick over at Cnet, http://reviews.cnet.com/iRiver_U10_512MB/4507-6490...
However I had no luck finding the optional dock but you can still download movies you have stored on your PC to it.
That is, if you are very attached to the video features. If not then I would go with a 2GB iPod Nano. But you seemed to really want video capability and that is something the Nano cannot provide.

If I wanted to buy an mp3 player and alresdy had $200 I would somehow save up $100 more and get a really good ipod, instead of buying the $200 one.
PLUS: your already 2/3 of the way there

I bought a Creative Zen Micro for my wife for less than $200. It was 5GB or 6GB (can't remember). More space than an iPod Nano at 2GB for less money!
She loved it (it got stolen so we replaced it with a Zen MicroPhoto). It's small, easy to use.

We bought it because I wanted to rent music with Yahoo Music Unlimited and I couldn't do that with an iPod.

the best choice is probaly the ipon nano. You get the apple name and reliabilty. 2GB 199.99 I have it, its great! but if you get it be sure to get a *Plastic* case because it scraches up easily and the other rubber cases are junk.
