    Child...

Satan is a 'strange' creature... and he is real.

The devil's actual form is very complex... he did not chose to be a snake...

He has two forms that he shifts between... a man-like and a serpent form (a.k.a. red dragon). He is not a snake.

If you read Revelation 12:9 OR 20:2, Satan himself is that ancient serpent... it is one of his actual forms.

Satan is cursed... he is not beautiful anymore... he was cursed in the Garden.

The website... heylel.info... has a page that shows what Satan actually looks like today. Here is the link:

    http://heylel.info/Physique/1210-Phy-imas.html

But understand... he can disguise himself so that people do not notice that he is a fallen angel... he can disguise himself so that he looks like a 'normal' human being.

Satan isn't pleasent. They have a lot in common

Snakes do get a bad rep but they aren't the most pleasent creatures to be around and are very smooth, sly, tricky creatures. Satan is like that too and yes he wasn't really a snake because he had legs and then God cursed him(don't know exact verse) "you shall wallow on the ground and pull yourself along and forever be hated by Eve and Eve's children. As for Eve he said that snakes would always bite and hateful and that she would be in great pain in childbirth and of course they were cast out of the Garden of Eden

The entire Book of Genesis is an allegorical and condensed version of history up to the time of Moses.

It is condensed to the same degree as a can of soup being represented by a piece of the label.

This was quite satisfactory in the time of Moses when most people were illiterate and fairy tales, legends, and myths were handed down verbally.

For the modern age when events are carefully documented, virtually everyone can read, and the number of truly smart people is astronomical, it is totally unsatisfactory.

Therefore, it has been made possible for true enquirers, to find out all the details of what occurred.

I agree with the first answer. I don't think any animal was considered unplesant and it was a time before adam and eve could make the difference between Good and evil. They only knew if to obey and live God. The got the knowledge of differentiating between good and evil only after eating from the tree of knowlege. And God cursed the snake only because he deceived eve and since then mankind has been considering Snake as an unpleasant animal and Man and Snake has been enemies!

Who says Satan exsists or God? And if Satan did come as a snake why do you find them to be unpleasant? Could have been a Gartersake or something nonpoisonos.

The Hebrew of Genesis seems to indicate that the snake was the woman's pet animal in the Garden of Eden. In those days snakes had legs. That's why the study of snakes is called Herpetology. Get it? Her-pet-ology. She felt very comfortable with it and it didn't shock her that it could talk. It would shock me if a snake started to talk to me.

It wasn't a lizard, it was a snake.

Satan and 'pleasant' don't mix, so it's not surprising he chose to be a snake. Hmm, a talking snake - I'm more worried about Eve's intelligence.

My thinking is that a snake has no feet and is poisonous not the the average jack in the animal kingdom u know . Maybe he think of himself as the underdog.

Look back at Genesis. Do you see anywhere that it says the serpent was satan? All it says is:

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animal that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God say, “You shall not eat from any tree in the garden”?’

    Do you really believe this?

The snake was a symbol of medicine and the twisted serpents were a symbol of dna.

The story of Adam and Eve and the snake was about medicine, dna and sexual reproduction.

Man could not reproduce at first until he was genetically altered.
