Spying on America...is..good?

Your question is especially valid in light of the fact that a warrant can be obtained up to three days after the fact. Also, very few out of the thousands requested have ever been denied. "Being able to respond quickly" is therefore not a valid excuse for faliure to get a legal warrant. The question now becomes: "Who is hiding what?".

What is the problem with people? They cry because they expected more protection.....now they are crying because the government is trying to protect them....NOTHING pleases them!

Why are people worried about "spying" if they are doing nothing questionable or wrong? I could care less if the government is listening to my conversations. They are trying to hunt the monsters who wish us harm! Besides, they are not listening to you talk to your wife/husband about what is for dinner anyway.

I think its hard to get a warrant when you don't know exactly who is doing what. Also, if a warrant is obtained, don't you think the suspect might become aware that something is wrong and use alternative meathods? I don't know about anyone else, but I want these individuals identified and captured BEFORE they execute whatever they are planning. If that means scanning email, tapping phones...ect....FINE!

I for one, appreciate G.W. Bush and his efforts to keep America safe from these criminals.

Because without a warrant means immediate access to an IMMEDIATE threat without the delay of court approval. People's lives are at stake. No time to turn in 1 inch thick application form to a judge while Mr. Jihad is dialing his cell. Hey, Clinton did it to! What's the big fuss!? Clinton said:

"We either went there and asked for the approval or, if there was an emergency and we had to do it beforehand, then we filed within three days afterward and gave them a chance to second guess it," Clinton told ABC.

Clinton did wire taps without approval hoping they would approve it!!! No difference in my book!

Because a vast number of Americans have no idea what the Bill of Rights is. They also don't realize that George W. Bush took an oath to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution of the United States and that he is bound by that oath to enforce all of the laws of this country, not just the ones that are convenient for him. He should be impeached.

Hey boneheads (reffering to the above answers) - Have we had an 911 attack in our borders since the Patriot Act? Have any of our embassies worldwide been attacked since 911? Have any military ships (USS COLE) been attacked since the Patriot Act? Is all of this coincidence? Maybe just maybe, we have been getting solid intel by spying & interigation of caught terrorist!! But i'm a conservative tool what would i know.

Because most Americans have been programed to fear. We fear because the government tells us that by being afraid, we can stay alert and the "enemy" can't touch us. Most people don't think things through particuarly if they ARE afraid. We are in a state of marshall law although our government keeps denying that fact. Freedom is a thing of the past and most people are just happy not to have to think for themselves

If you are not communicating with suspected terrorists you wont be spyed on.. MANNNNN Why cant some of you understand this!

They keep all of americans in a fear of terrorism and then they save their works in the name of struggling with terrorists?????????
