Did God put these temptations into my life?

I was just thinking: Did God put them into my life so I would learn to lean on Him and grow. Or is it just my flesh warring against the Holy Spirit? Are they always from God. I'm not saying God's making me sin(just to clear it up for SOME people out there)

Those temptations are really the works of Satan but God let Satan do it unto you because He knows you are strong enough to handle such things (remember what happened to Job). One misconception of people is that temptations always lead to sins. When you're strong enough you can gain good virtues from resisting the temptations. When you triumphantly resisted the temptations in your life, you will have the virtues of patience, chastity, temperance, and etc. so, out of temptations you have acquired saintly virtues. Do you think saints will be saints without encountering temptations in life? But Unlike them, most of us gave in to temptations."God is a good father and He will not allow his children to suffer eternal damnation."

I am glad that He_chose_me always keeps asking the questions which run through my mind as well. and so as a result I don't have to ask anything :) Well, when God allows temptations in one's life, I think he looks more at the end result rather than on it alone. See the examples. Joseph , Daniel, David, Joseph was tempted by his master's mistress very badly, but he resisted. Daniel was in riches, he was tempted to eat the unclean food and he refused. And in the case of David, he failed very badly in his temptation. But what do we see in the case of all three? God's name was glorified and Joseph and Daniel exalted because they overcame the temptations successfully. Daniel even though he failed miserably, still leaned on God and though he had to pay for his sin, still God's name was glorified through him and he is still known as the man after God's own heart. So you can see that when God sends some trials and tempations in your life, he is only looking to glorify his name. Whether you fail or win is not the main matter, what you learn from it is the main thing. God anyways loves you and is able to restore the worst sinner, So whatever you do in your life when you face temptations, you can be assured that God is going to use what has happened in yourlife as a learning for you and at times for the glorification of the Times

Oh, dear.. I'm bad at memorizing Scripture... But I do know it is written somewhere that God does not gives us problems that we would not be able to handle.

Oh, and I do remember this: "God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all." None at all. So I would say yes to your first two questions, and no to your third question. the remainder of the verse goes (apologies for any misquotes) "If you claim to have fellowship with Him and live in the darkness, then you lie and do not walk by the truth." No matter how much temptation there is, our love and fear of God makes us want to do the right thing.

God gave us free lives, in which we can choose to do what we wish. But to warned that we will be judged later on our actions. God did not introduce these temptations. Other people did. Now what matters is what you choose to do in how to deal with these temptations.

Without temptation, how do we practice obediance? Without practicing obediance, how will we grow strong as spiritual warriors? Boot camp isn't suppose to be easy. But we will be glad for it once we are in the heat of combat.

temptations are important....life's life is on the line

to answer your question....the genes put the tempetations in ur life....had they not....life, you, me, all would not have come to exist.

we have to learn to control temptations ....figure out our priorities and use our temptations properly....and i never said that that is always easy...:-)

balance the tempetations with the consequences -- good or bad....balance your life score card

One simple Bible verse will do for this, "For God cannot be tempted by evil, NOR DOES HE TEMPT ANYONE."
