I want to get politically active but I am a socialist. Are there any organizations in the US I can go to?

I have been a democrat for most of my life. Ive been reading about socialism and, i have come to a crossroad. I really want to get involved in socialism. I have been looking around but, i really don't know where to start. Any information would be greatly appreciated

    America is a Democratic-Republic. If socialism is your forte', moving to a socialist country would be in your best interest.

    Move to a socialist country. Get involved in their warped practices and help sit by and watch it fail.
