I would ask myself: Which Volvo model am I considering? Which Porsche model am I considering? Do they fit me needs, budget, and wants?
Me personally would lean towards the Volvo in this case, but for the same $$$ amount I would rather have an Infiniti or Lexus.

Volvo = forget the cute babes, if that's what you are worried about. If on the other hand, you wanna be safe then go for the Volvo. Look into the difference in the Insurance premiums too - you'll be surprised.

Consider that the younger you are, the higher the insurance costs for a true sports car. Unless you've got a lot of money to throw away, your best bet might be the Volvo.

Toyotas work well and for a long time. We had a toyota for 17 years and we only had to take it to the shop for oil changes, and for some tire changes, about 3 tire changes

Get a Honda Accord. You will never want anything else. If you want a little sportier, get a Civic.

Personally, I would choose a Toyota Camry because they are reliable and they last longer

Buy what you can afford best. both marques are good but insurance on the Porche could be phenomenal - you don;t say how old you are?
