Nothing is fool proof but if it would cut the drug and human smuggling down it would be worth it. The way to do it is have two walls a mile apart. In the no man's land set up landmines, you will totally stop all contraband entering this country.

The Berlin Wall was put up to keep people in, not people out. The wall on the border would be along the same lines of the Intentions of the Great Wall of China or Hadian's Wall in Great Britan.

a fence would definitely not work, it would have to be smooth, sunk deep enough into the ground to where they couldnt get underneath, tall enough to prevent just climbing over, and have permanent posts built into it which were manned continually.

The only thing that will work is if they start imposing heavy fines on the employers who are hiring the illegal immigrants. Cause honestly that's why we have this problem in the first place - employers are willing to hire illegals and thus keep their costs low = make more profit. Slap the profit into violations and huge fines and the problem will be solved automatically.

Legal or ilegal, remember hunger and poverty doesn't have any borders or knows nationality, political or religious beliefs.
