    Get a good Wireless adapter that supports the 802.11 G Signal. Also, making a cantenna for the times you are in towns wouldnt hurt (Search google). This way, as you go through cities, you'll be able to stop on occasion, scan for open networks (of which there are tons), and get online. Plus, most coffee shops such as Starbucks now offer free Wifi (Wireless) access.
