If you're talking about the movie that JLo is producing, the origin of it is the Puertorican culture (which reggaeton as music genre comes from) and JLo having Puertorican background wanted to do a movie about this music genre that has become a hit in the last year or so.
The movie is gonna tell the story of a NY rapper that travels to Puerto Rico and finds this whole reggaeton fever that gives him a new point of view. =D
