Why do married people wear their wedding rings or bands on their left hand.?
Where does this tradition stem from and who were the first to do it and besides showing everyone that they are married what else does it symbolise?

in most countries they put the ring on their left hand b/c it is clostest to their heart and u give ur heart and more when ur married

Most wear it on their right hand because there is a vein in their right hand that goes directly to their heart.
Another little tidbit: Traditional Orthodox wear it on their right hand.
