Why can't I feel better?

Last March, lost best friend/father/job all at once. Had to move for new work, leaving behind my son who'd just graduated highschool. I can't shake this sadness. I grieve for everything that was.

One of my friend lost her mother few months back. She is just eighteen years old.I worried at the beggining about how to console her because she liked her mother very much that she was almost in a very disturbed state when that incident happened.

But when she returned after few days she was completely normal.I was unable to restain myself and i asked her.she said a little story. The story is a man lost his only son and he was crying and crying and a sage noticed his sad state and he asked abt his sorrows and he explained to him

The sage said that he will solve his problem and will give rebirth to his son if he brought enough sand from the house where no death occured. He was unable to find such a home and finally he understood the life's fact that nothing is permanent in this world. After she finished telling me this

I was really proud of my friend and if she can controll her sorrows then why cant u?Happiness lies in ur hands.

Let me begin by saying, I am sorry for your loss, but you must stop grieving for what was and embrace today. You will not feel better or find happiness by constantly looking back. Happiness can only be found and experienced in the now.

What happned last year was bad. You had every right to feel sad and grieve for your loss, but now you must consciously find reasons to enjoy today otherwise you will remain knee deep in crap. At first, it will be a chore to find the silver lining in small things, but eventually it will become a way of thinking for you and without realizing it you will feel better.

Wow- what a series of loss. SOmetimes, it seems like the rain pours down and there is no stopping it. But you have to take each day, one day at a time, and choose to live. Choose to see the beauty of a rose- hear the laughter of a child- seek the wisdom of the older- etc. And of course, you should talk to someone- a trusted friend, a spiritual leader, a doctor... just make sure someone hears you and sees you and can care for you.
