I could say it's Mexico, but i haven't lived anyplace else.
I know we have insecurity, the economy is not very stable, the salaries are low, but if you stay away of Mexico, D.F., you can find a lot of great and beautiful places to have a nice life.
If you are asking in order to find out if there are some other options, i can tell you that Monterrey is a modern, vigorous, economically growing citty wich is not as insecure as the D.F.
And there are many little and beautiful citties where you can do little business - not big money - but live a peaceful life, like Queretaro, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, wich are colonial citties; Cd del Carmen, if you like the ocean, Michoacan and Puebla that are sorrounded with wooded landscape.
So, i don't know if USA is the best country to live in, i've hardly been at Texas a couple of times, but i love Mexico and i've had a great life till now.

AS far as standard of living Norway, according to the UN Human Development Index. Under Bush, the US has dropped from 5th to 10th.
Norway is a welfare state and one of the richest countries in the world. In 2003, for the third consecutive year, Norway is ranked at the top of the UNDP Human Development Index over national living conditions.
The average life expectancy in Norway is 78.7 years (2001). The population in general exhibits in very good health and the infant mortality rate is extremely low. Literacy is virtually 100% and nearly all members of the population have completed upper secondary schooling. There is no extreme poverty to be found in Norway, and the relative poverty level is low compared to other OECD countries.
The GDP per capita is high and wealth is relatively equally distributed among the population. There is a large degree of gender equality at all levels of society. In keeping with its welfare orientation, Norway has implemented a universal, public health service financed by taxation and a national insurance scheme, applicable to all citizens and residents, that provides a host of social benefits.

Born here, all I can say is YES! BUT anyone living in thier home country may say the same. We just know about our country until we visit ourselves the other countries.
News cannot answer this question for us. We must find out on our own judgement.

Let's see - the US treats immigrants better than the people that were born here (I would love to be given a grant to start a business, and be tax-free too, but oh well...), gives people who commit the worst crimes all kinds of perks (many that the law-abiding cannot afford) while they are in prison, takes money from those who work to pay welfare to those who refuse to work, penalizes people with no children by making them pay higher taxes, worries more about the rights of criminals that it worries about the rights of the victims, gives more help to disaster victims (who call us pigs) in other countries than it does victims here...do you really think it's suck a great country?

Your absoulutly right, I hear Iraq is a lovely country to live in, or you could try Nigeria, maybe even Haiti. You really need to spend less time on a computer and more time looking around you.

The only way to answer this question is by experience. Try living elsewhere & make the comparison. (This question is similiar to "my state is better than your state" etc.)
