it has never been recorded that he converted, but it has been recorded that he did not believe his theory of evolution to be true when he died. he believed that because of the complexity of the universe there had to be a creator.

(i'm really sorry, but i can't remember the names of the articles that had this info. all 4 that i read were very credible sources.)

That's just a urban legend. According to Wikipedia:

Despite this hope, very similar stories were circulated following Darwin's own death, most prominently the "Lady Hope Story", published in 1915 which claimed he had converted on his sickbed. Such stories have been propagated by some Christian groups, to the extent of becoming urban legends, though the claims were refuted by Darwin's children and have been dismissed as false by historians.

"Darwin's Conversion" sounds like a good name for a rock band. I think Dave Barry would agree. But it's very unclear from your question what sort of conversion you refer to. I think he did "convert" from a living human to a cadaver.

Drawin grew up as a Christian, but later renounced his belief in God following a personal tragedy (I think his daughter died). In some editions of the Origin of Species he refers to "the creator", but it is believed that this was to fend off accusations of heresy or something.

Well I've heard of a lot of death bed conversions, but not his.

Well unfortunately I don't know, but I certainly hope so. Even though I didn't agree with him(obviously) it would be great if he was in heaven... then again it would be great if everyone was in heaven. God Bless

    No. That's just a myth.
