Do you think that we should return to a time when religion governed all aspects of life?
There was a time when that was true, and in Christian countries. We call it the Dark Ages.

So that Xtians can try to subjugate and control everones life again? Ill pass, thanx. Maryanne. The Dark ages occured because so called Christian Men decided they wanted to hold absolute power over everyone in the name of your saviour. THe Renaissance happened, because intelligent people had enough of ignorance and absolute corruption by organized religion. The CHurch held back learning, and if you were to ask questions, you were labeled a heretic, and burned. I could write a 10 page paper on this, but Im afraid it would be lost on the very people I am trying to reach, and would be therefore a waste of time. You all dont seem to be the most welcoming of people when it comes to opposing viewpoints, so really. Whats the use?

Oh sure, lets set things up just like the Taliban in Afganistan before 9/11. Wouldn't that be so cool. We could burn books, ban music, execute people we don't like. Sounds like a really cool idea to me!!!!!!!!!!!
Same thing happened during the Dark Ages with Christianity instead of Islam. Read your history!! The best thing about the USA is religious freedom. DO you have any idea of what freedom is??????

Which religion?
If you mean the religion when Solomon still believed and did God's will; when Jehovah showered blessings to his subjects then it would be best for us. At that time, gold and silver was as common as stone in Solomon's kingdom.
The Bible says that soon--pretty soon--God will destroy Babylon the Great ( the world wide empire of false religions). After that the kingdom of God--symbolized by the New Jerusalem--will wipe out tears, sufferings, and even death.
But, the question my friend is this: Will we be there, or will we be dust under the feet of those who did God's will?
Source(s): the one who said: in the last days, men will be lovers of themselves, violent, greedy, lovers of money, rather than God.He also said that they will hold an outward form of Christianity, but reject its real power... - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

The Dark Ages occured because MAN was in charge, not God...When the theocracy existed during the time of the Israelites in Israel, things went a little better, but man still messed things up some....Wsen Jesus comes, he will be in charge, and there will be no mess-ups....

It was called the Dark Ages because the lamp of learning had flickered out. If we don't keep it burning we'll never make any progress.

we should never go back the only thing they care now and then its making more money and threa us as they pleace so going back would be a terrible thing for us and for everything we have acomplished by going away from the church. allways remenber that that was a time when there was not freadoom and just for having ur own opinion u could have died in one of the most horrendous ways.

I think it is a good idea, for the world has been way too perverted. But it wont be the most exciting for many people, so there probably will b a lot of civil wars.

You don't need time travel for that. Just move to the Middle East.
