Leader board and points ??
How do you people manage to get so many points, ive only been on here for a week or two ( not that points matter to me ) Just it seems you lot must spend a lot of your time on here , I mean for instance richard at the top of the list has about 26,000 points aprox.
Also where abouts am I on the leader board and isnt there a faster way of finding myself on the leader board then having to click back by a few numbers each time.
I agree and I think you enjoy playing games the most, as for choosing or being accepted as the best answer , ppl arent forced to select a best answer, they can just delete the question like I did once because i got a stupid answer / reply. Also some of the answers that get accepted are answers that should of never of gotten accepted.
Ive had a few ppl thank me for the help that I have given them and that is more rewarding then the points but the main reason for me asking this question was because if you click on your username you can see that yahoo has some other awarding system and I was just curious as to what that was.

There is one of two things, that Richard was either here from the start (like me) or he has just been chosen as best answer an insane amount of times. Also, yes, most of the people in the top ten at least DO spend A LOT of time here. I do this, blog and play PC games... and go to college... but guess which I like doing best...
As far as your points right now, you will be somewhere in this area, http://answers.yahoo.com/rank_total;_ylt=AtpNUllRi... when the Leaderboard is updated this week.
Ahhhh, is that a reference to the "special thank yous". Well, no one has recieved a special thank you and to this point I simply thought it was just a pre-thank you written up in the rules for participating in Answers. But, Yahoo (in a previous blog post) said that it is something they are working on. I also see they have removed the color levels from the points page as well.

I myself, found this "activity" by chance while adjusting my toolbar. I became curious, because, well I just must know every little function available to me (working on this issue).
I began participating, and within about two days, the signs of dependency were apparent.
Nearly two weeks now, the challenge to reach level 4 is only exceeded by the pleasure and enjoyment of being involved with people from across the world, a forum where we may honestly and openly express ourselves while assisting others...
All at the cost of my free time, productivity, social life, and personal hygiene.
Is it worth it? Heck yeah, I need to rack up those points baby!

I do not spend a lot of time going to the leaderboard. Once I got to level 3 or so, points are never an issue.
I do seem to spend a lot of time here and probably will at least for a while.
I classify this as "community service."

"Points are never the issue" for richard at level 3 because he previously given good answers that were getting ranked or accepted as best answer giving him points laters after level 3. so keep the quality of your answers at best and you will get more return of your time and definately more points because one good answer earns you 10 points, whereas just answering a question returns you only 2 points:)
hope you get the point.
Goodluck

so which you have felt cheated, too. i'm on point 4, in spite of the undeniable fact that it appears like it took continuously to get there. Then i glance on the leaderboard - & there is this guy on the perfect with hundreds of things!!! He ought to've been enjoying 24 hours 7 days a week on account that attending to point 7 (endless solutions, endless questions, endless votes, each and every little thing).
