It is better to start using the abdominal belt atleast after 25days. She will have the bleeding for approximately 3 to 4 weeks and then will discontinue. If she is only breastfeeding, then her menstruation will delay. It is very good if it delays the maximum. For some it delays for 1 year.

day after she gave birth, abdominal belts have no side effect whatsoever even for the baby it just makes the part sweat.as for the bleeding some takes 3 weeks some about a month, if hers didnt stop at that time she should go to her OB.
