I know there are doubts... But who can honestly say the NY Rangers wont go far? And why?
Im a huge Ranger fan and i just dont udnerstand how peopel can sya they wont go deep? They got OUTSTANDING goaltending ( for gods sake, lundqvist just beat the best in teh world). They have the NHL's leading goal scorer and point getter who ( contrary to previous beliefe ) is showing NO SIGNS of slacking off. Their PK is SUPERB. Their PP is FANTASTIC. They are 12-1-1 in their last 14. have won 7 straight. Beatn all the top teams in teh conference( im awaiting the Carolina game, should be a doozy). Please, someone explain how there could be any doubt?

There is no doubt. Tom Renny is in the running for the Jack Adams Award (best coach), Hank is in the running for the Calder Trophy(rookie), and Jagr is almost a shoo-in for the Hart and Art Ross trophies. As for the person who said "D", I dont think we have the best offensive defense, but they are excellent in their own zone. And with Jagr, you dont really need the D to contribute much. The only thing that can be held against them is experience. And youre very right, I cant wait until the Carolina game.

I am also a NYR fan and I see all these naysayers and I wonder what they know about hockey. This team has amazing chemistry, chemistry I haven't seen since the 1994 season.
I don't really see any reason why we won't go far. With the New NHL Rules, it suits our game. It used to be that you needed size and strength to go far in the playoffs, now it's speed and skill.
We have both of those, great coaching and a brilliant goaltender!
I think we finish #1 in the east and go to the conference finals.

im not to say they wont go far, because i think they definitly will. i have them, right now, pegged at the nhl's final four, losing to either carolina [i prey to God] or ottawa [ug]. but having one main scoring line is always dangerous in playoff hockey, and one good 5-man defensive line against jagr-straka-nylander could cut down drastically on ranger goal scoring production. a rookie netminder, tho i think is a calder winner in any of the last 5 years [sorry bout ovechkin this year], is always a scary playoff prospect.

I agree. I have season tickets. I hope they go to the playoffs because I get to go. I saw the game last night against the Flyers and it was great (6 goals). Jagr is unbelieveable. I think they have the potential to go far if there are no injuries.
