Fantasy baseball: top 6 draft picks?

2 Albert Pujols, StL, 1B 2

3 Vladimir Guerrero, LAA, OF 3

4 Mark Teixeira, Tex, 1B 4

5 Manny Ramirez, Bos, OF 5

6 Johan Santana, Min, SP Gardenhire not happy w/ his 61 pitches in WBC start

1. Pujols- every person who has had him on their team in my league for the last three years has won. Can't be coincidence.

2. A-Rod- could be interchangeable with Pujols.

3. Vlad- needs to stay healthy.

4. Mark Texeira- Man has he been impressive

5. David Ortiz- A pull-hitting lefty in Fenway Park with the Pesky Pole less than 300 feet out? Too easy.

6. Manny Ramirez- Ortiz will get walked alot this year setting the table for ManRam (if he doesn't get traded).

Iam offensive minded, pitching and defense will come later.

If it's a straight draft league, the other people's suggestions are all fine. But if you're in a league where you have a salary for each player (say out of $260), you have to balance the player's talent versus the needs of your team. In this case, you're better off concentrating less on pure studs and more on economical deals.
