Why do you suppose women don't wear the covering anymore as described in 1 Corinthians 11:1-16?

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions regarding this Bible passage :o)

You are right, of course; we cannot pick and choose which scripture to follow - the Bible is a whole and is God's instruction to man, so we should follow and keep it in it's entirety.

I think women have stopped wearing coverings because of several things:

#1) Female liberation

People have started looking at anything which a woman must to and a man does not have to do as sexist, and immediately dismiss it as 'out of date' or 'politically incorrect'

#2) A loss of Faith generally

A lot less people today follow the Bible or any religion at all than used to! It's become almost the 'uncool' thing to do, rather than the right thing to do.

#3) A lack of teaching

I went to Sunday School (of my own choice) and my parents worked on a farm that was owned and run by a Church for most of my younger life (although they are not Christian) and I was never told about any head covering. None of the women in my Church wore one, either. I think a lack of education on the matter has inevitably contributed to so few people wearing it, and I would like to thank you for educating me on the matter today :o)

For the same reason that they paint their faces like the "tart" in the scriptures. They realize that stuff was all written by men who were terrified of women.

Ya most women stop wearing it because they disagreed with it and did not like it why is it men don't have to wear such uncomfortable things

most denominations (demonations) teach that the woman's hair is her covering, or that the husband is the spiritual covering of the woman. Doesn't mean it is right, but it is being preached that way.

Many do... look at the Middle East.
