What can i do to help support my close friend who has just found out she was raped by an HIV postitive man.?
Im not sure how i will cope with this, She was an ex partner, and our relationship was an intense realisation that her childhood was spent repressing sexual abuse. I feel all sorts of grief around loosing her as a partner, my angry resentment of this fact, Not comming to temrs with my own sexuality after seeing her damage, and having zero sexual expression with her over 3 years. My only consolation was that she was going to be alright and just begining to move her life in a positive direction, thinking of children a career. and this is the final insult, I have sacrificed everything for her, my sanity my career and health and now I feel that my failure is complete. I cant fix this one.

I agree with njacobs7477. I would like to add something tho. In addition to what njacobs said, offer to help find a support group or a rape crisis center for counseling. When she' ready, she may want to talk everything out with someone impartial to listen. You might want to consider counseling with her. They can offer advice to you on how help her cope and to help you cope as friend. You sound genuinely concerned for your friend. Get help for her and yourself. Best wishes to you both. I know this can be a hard thing for anyone to go through. I'll pray for you both.

Be there when she needs to talk and if she wants or needs you to go with her when she gets tested. Be her shoulder and her rock. Be there for her always at least through this and pray for her.
