Excellent observation.
Pretty soon there will be only very wealthy and poor individuals/families. There is no job security anymore so how can anyone buy a house or other objects related to the "American Dream"? The American dream has evolved into a nightmare.

Not with the repuglicans in power, they believe in supply side economics and therefore nothing will be done for the middle or lower class. They cut taxes to the very rich so that they have money to move their factorys overseas and then exploit cheap labor so they show huge profits so that the repuglicans can get bigger dividans on their stock portfolio. Works for them cause they are rich.
