America addicted to oil?
Are we really addicted to oil or do we use oil simple because there are no other options offered to us at the pumps? I don't know about you guys but the gas stations around here only offer oil based fuels and none offer ethenol based products.

Yes, that is why I am so interested in E5. I hear some vehicles are coming out with the option of using it. I hope many more do and it gets fixed up to use real easy.

Yes, we are addicted but not to oil. We are addicted to our own arogance. It was Clinton/Gore who exempted SUvs from Federal Mileage and polution Standards. That's why i did not vote for them. Had we spent $2 trillion on Hydrogen autos or mass transit in the past 10 years, instead of the war in Iraq we would be driving Hydrogen autos now. GM says the Hydrogen Autos will be on the market by 2020. Ethanol could be sold now at the pumps but oil Companies do not sell the 10 percent mix because the profit is higher on gas. Gas is 12 cents/us$ per Gallon in Venezuela now. I paid $2.35 today.

I think if you are intrested in being an activist against big oil, you should seek out local chapters... it's a major evil in this world and there are people all over the planet fighting this fight... considering this is the 2nd question ive seen of yours about this same subject, i think this is a very serious issue for you and you should try colaborating with others who have already got the groundwork goin on the fight... in any protest, there is always a need for supporting members... and the only exception is when a cause is won... fight for what you believe in and give em hell ;)

The whole world runs on oil, so I don't believe it is accurate to say that America is addicted to it. What we need to do (in America and elsewhere) is find a clean, alternative, renewable source of energy so we won't all be dependent on something that will not last forever. Not to mention the trillions of dollars that go to the Middle East for their supply.

Yes, we are addicted to oil. Oil was not needed not that long ago. If it weren't for competing with other countries, and the laziness of people, there would be no need for it.

we dont have a choice really, only a few other power sources.
