Why do US news anchors suck so much?
If you compare US news readers to any other country, the ones in the US stumble more over words, say the word 'obviously' too much, and joke around alot. Does anyone else notice this? Wouldn't a news producer want to say "hey, you said 'obviously' 640 times in that last piece, maybe you can think of something else to say"

Which is hilarious b/c some of our 'best' newscasters are from Canada. Networks tell these people to joke around b/c your 'common' American is considered an idiot. So, if you dummy it down for them, they'll actually enjoy the news, which sucks b/c I REALLY like int'l news & they condense it into 3 minutes.
Worse example of kidding around: 1 reporter reported the gang-raping of 1 underaged girl & how she was 'obviously' in pain. They switch over to the weather guy & he says, 'That just like walking in the rain without an umbrella, it's best if she just closed her eyes & went through it' He lost his job after that....

It's allthe Aqua-Net they use on their pompodour hair-dos. It gives them a really good buzz.

I agree. I am Canadian and watch both Canadian and American newscasts. I much prefer the Canadian anchors.
