Cherokee, NC?

I want to visit Cherokee, Nc, I am having problems finding a way to get there other than renting a car. Are there tours that can take you there? Your comments would be most appreciated.

Update:

Note: I am traveling from Winston Salem, NC. I would like to know the name of charter buses that travel there.

Where are you coming from? I do not know of a air flight in. There should be a cheap bus tour to the gambling casino . . . however out of all the casinos that I've been to, I do not like this one because even the "table games" are electronic. So you can have the house set the odds on the table games as well. It is a shame because the casino has helped the Cherokee Indians living standards from 20 years ago (it was disheartening). I also got strong feeling of organized crime presence controlling the casino, so watch out the house is not . . . well exactly in your favor to be kind (like any of them are).

Have fun, the Great Smokies are a great place to visit! I should so warn you are about Gatlinburg and Pigion Forge . . . one of the biggest tourest tramps in the world. Be warned it's horrible in the ticky tacky crap (especialy Pigion Forge).

Check your locak newspaper for charter deals to the Casino, you should be able to find some cheap ones (around $50 round trip and once you get to the casino they generaly give you around $10 in chips). You just have to keep your eyes out for it. I'm thinking from Winston Salem you're looking at around a 4-5 bus ride.

Source(s): If you get despirate . . . I mean very despirate you can always take the bus but it'll make the ride from around 4 hours to about 8, no lie, this is the reason why no-one takes the bus anymore. http://www.uscoachways.com/?=goo-buscharter http://www.greyhound.com/home.asp

I am in Durham and you can take the train, then the local bus. All depends on the time of day that you're going. Charters are too expensive and rigid.
