What does this long german word mean in english?
What does the german word "Freundschaf- tsbezeigun- genstadtvero- rdnetenver- sammlungenf- amilienei- genthüml- ichkeiten" mean? (NOTE: I have inserted the dashes and spaces randomly because yahoo answers can not handle such a long word. It is originally one word.) I know it has something to do with senators or something.

I changes the dashes more logical
Freundschafts- friends like
bezeigungen- relations
stadtverordneten- city commanded
versammlungen- collection
familien- family
eigentumlichkeiten posessions
As well in German as in English it is only a fun word. Nobody uses it.

Even with the wrong spaces and whatever, this is not a genuine German compound noun; it might be construed, but wouldn't make sense, such as "Donaudampfschiffahrts
kapitäns-mützen-
bandhersteller".

Hmmmm, I can get bits of it:
Freundschafts = friendship
bezeigungen = something like "sign or indication of"
stadt = town
verordneten = people who put something in order, therefore "stadtverordneten" would be the people who put the town in order, i.e., councilors or senators
versammlungen = a collection of something
familien = families
eigenthümlichkeiten - this is the bit I don't know

no way, I don't think this is really one word.
Wouldn't make any sense.
could it be that you accidentally spelled "stadt" but it is supposed to be spelled "statt"?
if yes than, than the first part would mean:
( sorry if it's not 100% right but I'm German I would understand it like this:)
friendly relation instead of ordered meetings.
= freundschaftsbeziehungen staTT verordneten versammlungen.
and the last word means:
peculiarity of families.
