To those who owned/own a Genesis: What are you favorite games on that system?

I 100% agree with you on that. those were all great games. i still play sonic 3 with knuckles even now. i still remember when sonic 1 was at toys r us and they had a demo and i got to play it. i thought that it was (and still is) the coolest game. i liked streets of rage also. 1 was ok two was the best and three i really never got into. i played 2 alot. even had it for the game gear (i don't know, maybe i had #1 for the game gear). those were classics. they don't make games like that anymore and thats why i still play them to this day. just the other day i was playing sonic two and it brought back memories of me playing it as a kid and loving it. sonic the hedgehog was the best game to represent the genesis hands down. thanks for the great question that makes me bring back all the good times with that system. boothster

My cousin had a Genesis that I used to spend all my time on during my younger days. My favorites were of course: the Sonic series, Shinobi and the Streets of Rage 2.

Recently, I got the emulator for the computer and several ROMs for it. It was old school again when I played SOR2 and the Sonic series, but there were also better games that I wish I had played as a kid. If you're planning on trying them out, I recommend these:

- Gunstar Heroes (this is one of the best games!)

- Battletoads and Double Dragon (excellent beat-em-up!)

- Golden Axe 3 (the best of the series) - I played the first one as a kid

- Paperboy 2 (addictive!)

- Mickey Mania - The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse

Those are all my recommended games. My cousin sold off his Genesis, but I wish he hadn't - it would be so much more better to play it on the TV again.
