Info on William Clausen, folk singer, 1960s?

I've googled with scant success.

I think he was English, and toured New Zealand in mid-60s, folk and/or comic singer -

Mainly known for "I know An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly" (also done by Burl Ives and Peter Paul & Mary).

ANY info - even hazy memories - would be appreciated. :-)

I did a Google search on "William Clausen" and "music" and got some hits.

You can get a CD containing one of his songs here:

    http://www.smokecds.com/track/182343

    And another one here:

Plus, I see a reference that reads "an album of William Clausen, live. (He was some kind of Scandinanvian lounge lizard who did folk-and-novelty-songs plus what passed for witty commentary in between.)"

    Best of luck!

Update: When I changed the spelling of his name and searched on ""William Clauson" folk album - I got MANY more hits.

I can't believe it! Nobody has mentioned Bob Dylan. He single handedly brought folk music back into the public eye. He is at least as - if not more - important as Woody Guthrie.
