How do u ignore someone

You must delete the contact from your messenger list in order to ignore them. When you ignore a contact you always appear to be offline to the contact. They can never view your status or send you an IM.

To ignore a contact:

1. Click the messenger menu in yahoo messenger and then select preferences.

2. Click the ignore list category.

3. Select the option labeled ignore only the people below.

4. Click the add button.

5. Enter the yahoo id of the contact you want to ignore.

6. Click the ignore button.

7. Click ok at the bottom of the window.

You can ignore up to 100 contacts.

Please Note: You may remove a contact from your Ignore List by selecting the id and clicking the remove button. ( some times yahoo put it back so u may have to do it 3 times for it to work )

To ignore anyone who is not on your messenger List:

Yes you can. In the main messenger window, click on Messenger, then Preferences. When the list comes up, click on Ignore List. Then click on Add. You simply type in the name of the person you want to ignore.

You can block them or mark them as spam but you will have to open the IM from the offline message box first

or you can make your messenger only recive messages from people on your list

Messenger > Preferences >Ignore List > Ignore anyone not on my list

yes u can..... see at upper right of the PM window... u will see 3 buttons.. choose ignore option and while doing so click on Report to spam....

u will never recive any mmsg untill u remove this ID from iggy list..

yes...just hit the ignore button when they send you a message and it will put them on your block list

well one way is to add everyone who is not on your list to the ignore list ... just log in to your messenger ... go to messenger -> preferences - > ignore list and then "ignore anyone who is not on my list" .... done :P

yes, when they IM you there should be a button that says something like "block" and I can't remember what it looks like, it might be that red circle with the slash.
