Is Yahoo! really being deleted August 17th?

It sounds very dumb to me, and I just got the chain letter, but do you believe it?

Would you believe the number of chain mail letters that are created by people who have nothing better to do?

I have received countless messages like this, some were re-sends from worried friends asking me if I knew about this one but THAT is just what these idiots want (never mind April 1st) this is attempted every day. Simply by sending it through to your friends uses up Internet bandwidth and allows them to win, even if they never see it.

It's not funny or necessary, and starting a rumour up like this on any service puts you in the same weed pond as all the other scum-on-the-web lowlifes that try and disrupt the rest of us. Only marginally better that e-mail spammers, but even that is considerably better that virus writing scum

All I do is quite instantly dismiss them, and tell others to do the same. There's no reason for a system like Yahoo or any other to shut down. Its the slammers and crackers who I wish would S.T.F.U. and leave regular web users on services like this to just get on with it.

No that is bogus. Yahoo is a huge company that has been functioning for years. It is completely untrue.
