short answer- don't. Steak should be slightly overcooked on the outside and progresively rarer towards the centre. Microwave wil ruin a decent piece of meat.

wait a minute, i used to be head chef at Red Lobster and we cooked steaks in the microwave all the time, thing is that is does have to be cooked over a stove a little bit first, then to turn a really rare steak into a slitghtly rare steak throw it in for a min or so. we used to get tips on those steaks the most!!

Don't ever cook a steak in the microwave. Take the time to do it properly. You paid a lot of money for it, don't ruin it. Better to wipe up a bit of grease than to lose the whole thing.

Never cook steak in a microwave. I'll just be throwing your money away.

Why not cook it on the stove, or george forman instead???? i don't even like heating up beef in the microwave, never the less cook it there. i guess if you like your steak like roast or beef jerky then go for it.

My first advice is do not. Micros cook from the inside out, so you would not be able to have a "rare to medium" steak.

"Well done" and you would put Goodyear Tyre Co out of business - but you would have less punctures!

That is a terrible idea. You might as well just chew on shoe leather.
